How did the Droolfox project idea originate?
Joel and I were listening to some looping artists and started fiddling around with some loops and synthscapes. Jotted down a few ideas and ran to Humming Tree and did an Open Mic. Loved how we felt performing those songs and figured we need to do more of this.
What was the vision for the band?
The vision has always been to stay honest with our songwriting and experiment as much as we can. To not be afraid of changing our sound as we evolve as artists and people.
What does Droolfox mean?
The name Droolfox actually originated from a “Random Band Name Generator” website and has no meaning.
You also have a duo project called Galat Aadmi X Sakre. How are these projects differentiated in their sound and production process from Droolfox?
Droolfox has a lush sound with lots of Funk Guitar and groovy interludes. The aim is to create an experience for the listener where they’re engrossed in the soundscapes and are able to immerse themselves. Being a 4-piece band, it also is different from the Galat Admi X Sakré project in the sense of stage presence and overall band dynamic, the old school, kick-your-drummer-mid-song feels that can’t be topped.
Galat Admi X Sakré are a raw, no-rules kinda intimate set up where yes, you do get to take a dip into that synth domain but the song themes are rather personal.
The production for both also differs as more people are involved with the band. Both projects are self-produced. Go Indie! Yay!
Infomercial
Synthpop, short for synthesizer pop, is a genre of music that emerged in the late 1970s and became prominent in the 1980s. It blends electronic music with pop sensibilities, often featuring catchy melodies, upbeat rhythms, and the prominent use of synthesizers and drum machines.
Synthpop artists typically use electronic instruments to create futuristic sounds and textures, with lyrics often focusing on themes like love, relationships, and technology.
Some iconic synthpop bands and artists include Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, New Order, and Madonna, whose contributions helped define and popularize the genre worldwide. Synthpop's influence can still be heard in contemporary pop music, where electronic elements remain a staple of production.
Editorial Recommendations
Keep this band for when you need to seduce someone at a music festival.
Because they are a mood.
The mood would be slow dancing which can lead to making out.
I have recommended the band to give out condoms as merch.
For gigs and enquiries email the band.
